I have dealt with the following casework in the past few weeks:
Complaints re land at Leemans Hill being neglected by the Council, now some progress with grass mowed .
I reported fly tipping on Kirklees Trail, now removed and I hope the Council examined the many bags and will prosecute if they have evidence of the perpetrator.
Uneven paving on Ryecroft Avenue reported.
The trees at the rear of Victoria Court are taking light from residents homes. The trees are on land owned by the school and the request is with them to reduce the height.
Reported low braches of trees on Laurel Street, with Officers waiting to inspect.
Hogweed off Scobell St reported and with Officers to inspect asap.

I was on a stall at The Big Day Out again for the Library. We raised £400 and grateful for all the support for our stall. Iain was also present all day, he was a marshal in high viz!
The next fundraiser at The Tottington Centre will be a repeat of our previous event BURYS BIGGEST BOOK SALE on Sunday 11 th August. Activities and games for children too plus our pre loved bargain jewellery stall will also feature. A BBQ plus the Tea Room open too.
Ladies a date for your diary…Sunday 8th September
“Ladies Who Lunch “……at Greenmount Golf Club…delicious 2 course lunch, fashion show by Buttons Boutique and entertainment. All for £25.
This was a sell out last year so please call in the library for tickets soon.
I am in the process of obtaining costings for a bench depicting silhouettes of soldiers. A Tottington resident has offered to make this at a discounted price and we are meeting soon. This will be paid for from my Councillors discretionary budget.
Last week I attended a social event for Blind Society Members at a local restaurant. There I chatted all evening to an inspirational young man, blind from birth yet he was very upbeat and positive. Puts everything into perspective and makes me value good health and not complain about minor ailments!
Good News, The Tottington Centre is to sponsor a litter bin to help keep Totty Tidy!
I launched a poster competition some weeks ago at both primary schools in the Ward. Last week I have been presented with piles of posters…ooo what a job this is…the challenge was to create a poster to display in windows highlighting the problem of irresponsible dog owners who leave our streets dirty. What creative comical children here in Tottington…it’s not been easy but I think I have a winner who will receive a trophy and the poster will be copied and delivered to house in the problem areas with a request to display in windows.
I attended Tottington High School Celebration of Excellence.
Enjoyed afternoon speaker Stuart at The Tottington Centre last week. Band member Stuart spoke about the history of Tottington Brass Band.
