I’m now fully back into the swing of things after the elections. I have been appointed onto the Licensing Committee which I served on many years ago.
More clean up kits in situ after a resident requested them for Sycamore Road and on Market Street.Incidentally I have requested this appalling street sign (attached )is replaced and informed the Council only order replacement signs twice a year, so unfortunately it could be some considerable time before a new one is in place.
I have requested that road markings at Carmellos junction are repainted and assured this will take place in June.
I am dealing with a variety of casework issues which unfortunately cannot be solved quickly and are ongoing …..overgrown trees,Planning advice, blocked grids which are impacting on householders.
I am assisting Bury Market Traders with ongoing issues and arranging a meeting with Council Officers.
Along with fellow volunteers from The Tottington Centre we had a stall at Greenmount Village Day and raised £201 for the Centre with a Tombola and Hook the Duck, it was awful weather but a fun day!
Tottington Councillors are launching an essay competition for pupils at both Tottington and Elton High and will award a Trophy for the best, the subject , “ Our Planet “….how do we help save it. Feel sure it will be interesting to read the views of the young people.
We are not leaving the junior school pupils out and will give awards for the best poster from both Tottington and Christ Church Primary.
The theme of the poster is to attract and stop irresponsible dog owners from not picking up the dog poo.The best poster from each school will be copied and delivered to areas in our Ward where this is a problem.
