Update from Yvonne
Thank you for supporting my colleague Iain in the elections last Thursday. We work very well together and I am very pleased that he was re-elected for another 4 year term.
Been busier than usual of late, my pleasure to have attended the 150 year celebrations of St Johns Church which I am a Trustee. The refurbishment is not yet completed but truly amazing what has been achieved to date.

The Library is taking up much of my time. I am leading on fundraising events and thrilled that over £3200 has been raised with the fashion show and jumble sale I organised last week. Preloved Handbag sale next week , do call in for a bargain. We now have over 700 members and almost 70 volunteers and incredible support from everyone who comes in the Library.

Just a few tickets left for the Fun Gardeners Question Time to be held in the Library on May 25th, tickets £15 and includes a 2 Course Supper and glass of wine.
Just weeks after we have taken over the library we have had a bombshell….the boiler has been condemned and urgent electrical repairs are also required.I will be contacting the Council with regard to these serious amounts of money needed to make the building safe and sound !
I am also busy sourcing furniture and catering equipment to set up the Tea Rooms in the library which we hope to open next month. The toilet is in desperate need of an upgrade and we are applying for funding to help with this . Starting to plan the Village Fete too which will be held on the 24th June……more news of this in our next blog update.

Incidentally the green bags for your food caddy are still available at the library…another good reason to call in …and maybe you would like to join the Library for just £2.50.
I am in the library every Thursday , a busy day with story time with lots of tots but please do call in should you wish to speak to me on any issue.
I am still a Trustee at the Blind Society and have attended several meetings also each Monday morning session too as a Volunteer but have now resigned from the Board of the Deaf Society due to the demands on my time at the library. No contentious applications in the Ward have come before us of late on the Planning Committee.
I have dealt with several Ward cases over the past few weeks including ,inconsiderate parking on Bury Road…ongoing.Damaged pavements due to bad driving.Erratic bin service.Requested more dog bins.
