Station Yard Clear Up

Message from Judith Kelly at “Incredible, Edible Tottington”

Hi all,

We’ve been having ad hoc tidy ups on old Station Yard, off the Kirklees Trail every few weeks but it now needs a good tidy up with as many people as possible.

The grass will be cut (if the plan works!) on Sunday morning, so we will be there:

Sunday 24th July, 2pm until 5pm.

We’ll be there whatever the weather.

It would be great to see people who have been involved before, as well as new friends. This is a community group so is open to anyone, and anyone can help out by doing a bit of pruning/weeding etc whenever they like.

It would be helpful if you could bring a trowel, fork, gloves etc but if you don’t have them please don’t let that put you off. There will be something for everyone to do. You don’t need to know anything about gardening as the oracle will be there.

Please come along and bring your family and friends. Stay for as much of the time as you like, and if you aren’t sure it’s for you, come and say hello and see what it’s all about.

We hope to see as many of you as possible then, and by Sunday evening Station Yard will look a lot more loved.

  1. Hi Iain. Much as I agree with your sentiments to protect green belt land in our area, isn’t it stated Conservative Government policy to release more green land for housing and remove some of the protection the GB status gives it?
So, is a fundamental change of policy at Whitehall level not needed more than pressure on Bury Council? Just a thought. Nevertheless I signed the petition. FRANK
